It would be really nice to have Catalina on this iMac at home and have the full functionality of TDM without having to try to get it working for like half an hour. It does not work with macOS Mojave or later. Nothing in the statement 'Target display mode requires macOS High Sierra or earlier on the iMac used as the external display. Is there anyone that has a TDM supported Mac with the CatalinaPatcher installed that also has this issue and does someone know how I can improve the Target Display Mode on Catalina. This is correct, but the Target display can be booted to and running Catalina. After pressing like ~50-100 times of Cmd+F2 (which is the command to activate TDM) it works and I can use it as a second screen. Now on Catalina, the screen goes black for 2 seconds (it tries to "activate" TDM) and than goes back to the Desktop of the iMac. when I'm working from home I used to use the iMac as a second screen for the MacBook using Target Display Mode, in High Sierra as soon as I connected the MiniDisplayPort-cable onto the iMac it would pop into Target Display Mode. ![]() I have installed Catalina on the iMac using the Patcher, everything is working perfectly except for 1 thing. at home I have a iMac 27" late 2009, and from work I have a MacBook Pro from 2019.
